Painting by Spencer Wynn
Iceberg, Uummannaq Sound, 9" x 12" Oil on Panel
Artist's statement
Like paddling through deadheads in a flooded marsh, our ship gingerly threads through the frozen, towering behemoths from centuries past. Uuminaaq Sound slips silently by as the icebergs pepper the surface of the water. This iceberg, like its shape must have a storied past that we can only imagine as it shrinks away behind us.
Biography

Spencer WynnAfter graduating from the Ontario College of Art, Spencer has been involved in graphic and editorial design, winning numerous national and international design awards.

Spencer takes his canoe in the summer and snow shoes in the winter and camps in both seasons. With a map painting supplies and simple gear, there are no limits to his searches for wilderness and extreme Canadian landscapes.

From his mountain trips, paddling adventures, winter camping trips and a spiritual experience in the High Arctic, Spencer now paints remote landscapes that few have visited.

Through his paintings, he brings to us his own Canadian experience and bold simple vision.

Spencer is represented by galleries in Yorkville, Toronto and Banff Alberta. He also has an international auction record with Sotheby's Important Canadian Art sales.
